Many larger Danish companies are now starting to actively manage the way that open source is integrated in the business to avoid the pitfalls and ensure success. This is done by implementing open source policies and compliance programs, by enforcing license management, by performing due dilligence when acquiring code or other companies and by implementing a business strategy for the use of open source.
This session will give an insight into how large Danish companies seen from a lawyers perspective manage open source in their business.
Frederik Ploug Sarp is an attorney at Kromann Reumert, Denmarks largest law firm, specializing in open source and it-law.
He advises some of the largest Danish businesses about open source in connection with specific questions and issues, or in connection with the preparation, implementation and daily operation and maintenance of compliance programs. In addition, I also advise in the estimation of software or other products containing open source software and in major business transfers and outsourcing projects.
