Git is one of the latest additions to the pool of version control systems, and it has many advantages over the now aging version control systems. All the cool new stuff is off course available through command line tools, but with an Emacs extension, it's suddenly all at you fingertips - through shortcuts, which Emacs is famous for.
The talk will cover the basic Git functionality accessible through Emacs - based on work flow on a "normal day". Basic knowledge of Git and Emacs is recommended.
Jacob Emcken has had Linux and Open Source in general as part of both his private and professional life for 15 years. For the past 6 years he has been working for Casalogic A/S, providing a wide range of customer specific infrastructure solutions based on Open Source software. Lately, customer demands have required a lot of software being written from scratch, which has lead Jacob to Git and its' many features.
