Ubuntu is currently one of the most widely used desktop Linux systems. With a large company and a great volunteer community behind it, support can be provided on both a paid, professional level, and on a free volunteer-based level.
In the Danish Ubuntu LoCo team we believe the system is ready for mainstream use, and this talk will focus both on our former successes, and on our future plans for spreading the word about Ubuntu and free (as in speech) software.
Jesper Jarlskov is currently studying an M.Sc. in Digital Media (Civ Eng) at DTU right outside Copenhagen. He holds a B.Sc. in IT & Telecommunication, and has been working with Ubuntu and Debian as main systems and a member of the Ubuntu community and a fan of Open Source software (and beer) for around 3 years
